In response to the escalating violence from Pakistan, all educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir have been closed, and university examinations have been suspended. The government announced that schools, colleges, and universities will remain shut on May 9 and 10 as a precautionary measure.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has travelled to Jammu to assess the situation following a failed drone attack by Pakistan aimed at Jammu city and other areas. Authorities are actively monitoring social media and traditional news outlets, taking legal action against those spreading misinformation or violating government advisories.

Despite the turmoil, high-speed 5G internet services and other telecommunications remain uninterrupted in the Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army issued a statement confirming that multiple attacks were launched by Pakistani Armed Forces using drones and munitions during the night of May 8-9. They assured that these drone attacks were effectively repulsed and that a strong response was given to the ceasefire violations.

The Indian Army reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation, vowing to respond decisively to any hostile actions.
