India has launched ‘Operation Kaveri’ to bring back Indian nationals from Sudan where the situation is worsening due to an ongoing fight between Army and Paramilitary forces.
The first Flight Carrying stranded Indian nationals landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The flight were carrying Indian citizens who had been evacuated from Sudan.
Earlier on Monday, External affair minister S Jaishankar said India’s operation to evacuate its citizen is underway.
In a tweet, he said that around 500 Indians had reached a port in Sudan. The rescue operation has been named Operation Kaveri by the government.
