Water Vision for 2047: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that the India has made major advancements in water conservation and that Amrit Kaal would benefit greatly from the Water Vision for 2047.
India has made significant improvements in water security. Amrit Kaal will greatly benefit from our water vision for 2047. The country is collaborating to erect 75 Amrit Sarovars in each district. There have already been built 25,000 Amrit Sarovars, according to PM Modi. He argued that the states’ efforts to save water will significantly contribute to the achievement of the nation’s overall objectives. Speaking at the All India Annual State Ministers’ Conference on Water, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this.
“Water is a topic covered by our constitution.
“Water is a topic that is governed by the states under our constitutional structure. The country’s overall objectives will be greatly aided by state initiatives to conserve water “PM Modi added.
In order to encourage public participation in water conservation, he stressed that the public’s awareness of the issue had to be raised. Our impact will increase as we work harder in this direction.
He emphasised the value of technology by saying, “Technologies like geo-mapping and geo-sensing are crucial to the effort to conserve water. In this work, other startups are also collaborating.”
According to Prime Minister Modi, solely government measures to conserve water are insufficient, and public participation is crucial.
“Only the government’s efforts in water conservation are insufficient. There has to be a fresh chapter of Jan Bhagidari (People’s Participation) with numerous participants from all facets of society. We must involve people, social groups, and civil society as much as possible in our water conservation programmes, stated PM Modi.
Invoking the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan,” PM Modi claimed that the campaign’s success depended on raising public knowledge and consciousness, and that the same mindset had to be instilled in the public about water conservation as well.
“When people participated in the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan,’ the general population also gained consciousness and awareness. The government gathered resources and completed numerous projects, including the construction of restrooms and water treatment facilities. But when people began to think twice about spreading dirt, the campaign’s success was certain. The general people needs to be encouraged to think similarly about water conservation, according to PM Modi.
He gave advice to business and agriculture, both of which have large water demands, saying that they should launch a campaign to save water jointly.
