Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the students of classes X and XII, who cleared their CBSE examinations. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared Class XII and X results for session 2024-2025 on Tuesday, May 13. 88.39% of students have passed the board exams. Overall Passing percentage has increased by 0.41% since last year. Keeping up with the trend of past years, girls have again outshined boys by over 5.94% points. Over 91.64 % girls have passed the Class 12 CBSE board exams, whereas 85.70% boys have passed the exam.
PM Modi has extended congratulations and shared words of encouragement for those who were disappointed with their results. Sharing a post on his official ‘X’ handle, PM Modi wrote, “Dear #ExamWarriors, Heartiest congratulations to everyone who has cleared the CBSE Class XII and X examinations! This is the outcome of your determination, discipline and hard work. Today is also a day to acknowledge the role played by parents, teachers and all others who have contributed to this feat. Wishing Exam Warriors great success in all the opportunities that lie ahead!”
He highlighted the determination, discipline and hard work of students and attributed their success to these qualities. PM Modi also congratulated the parents, teachers, and others who contributed in student’s hard-work to achieve the result.
One Exam Can Never Define You: PM Modi
PM Modi also addressed students who might be feeling dejected at their scores. He told them that “One Exam Can Never Define” anyone. “To those who feel slightly dejected at their scores, I want to tell them: one exam can never define you. Your journey is much bigger and your strengths go far beyond the mark sheet. Stay confident, stay curious because great things await. #ExamWarriors,”PM Modi wrote in another post.

Vijayawada has emerged as the top-performing region in CBSE Class 12 exams 2025 with a pass percentage of 99.60%. Trivandram, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi West are other top performing regions. Prayagraj, Bhopal and Noida are the lowest performing regions out of the 17 evaluated regions. A total of 17,04,367 students had registered, and 16,92,794 appeared for the exams. Out of these, 14,96,307 have passed, making the overall passing percentage 88.39%.
Notably, transgender students have recorded a 100% pass percentage in the CBSE Class 12 board exams 2025. The improvement in the pass percentage from last year, shows inclusivity within the education system.
