As reported by PTI, the Swachh Bharat Diwas program will highlight India’s sanitation achievements over the past decade, as well as the successes of the recently concluded “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign.
PM Modi To Celebrate 10 Years Of Swachh Bharat Mission
To commemorate 10 years since the beginning of the momentous cleanliness campaign, Swachh Bharat Mission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Swachh Bharat Diwas 2024 at 10.00 AM on October 2 in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. This is the day marking the 155th Gandhi Jayanti, according to a statement issued by the PMO.
Over 200 projects will be strengthened towards urban water supply and sewerage through investments of over Rs 6,800 crore in AMRUT and AMRUT 2.0. Other key projects are for improving water and sanitation quality in the Ganga basin by an investment of more than Rs 1,550 crore through the National Mission for Clean Ganga and 15 CBG plants under GOBARdhan with investments of over Rs 1,332 crore.
‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2024’ Theme Highlights Commitment To Cleanliness And Sustainability
The theme for “Swachhata Hi Seva 2024,” which is “Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskaar Swachhata,” has brought the country together again in its dedication to cleanliness, public health, and environmental sustainability, according to the statement.
Under “Swachhata Hi Seva” 2024, over 19.7 lakh programs have been completed with over 17 crore people’s involvement.
Over 6.5 lakh cleanliness target units have been transformed and nearly one lakh Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivirs have been organized, benefiting more than 30 lahks “safai mitras”.
Over 45 lakh trees have been planted under the “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam” campaign, said the statement.
