Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced that the state government would provide jobs to family members of passengers who got disabled in the Balasore train accident.  

According to reports, 81 people from West Bengal died so far in the deadly triple train accident in Odisha’s Balasore district. While 206 people have been injured. 

As per official information, more than 950 people have been discharged, and so far 170 dead have been identified and the figure for the total dead is 275. 

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that some people lost their hands, legs in the Balasore accident. For such people, our government has decided that we will give the job of a special home guard to one of their family members.. Earlier, CM Mamta Banerjee announced a compensation of five lakh rupees to the dependents of the deceased. At the same time, TMC has said to give two lakh rupees.

She said that she will visit Cuttack and Bhubaneswar again. Odisha will hand over ex-gratia checks and job letters to the families of train accident victims on Wednesday. He has paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the train accident.

Responding to the board’s demand for a CBI inquiry into the Balasore train accident, it said that we want people to know the truth. This is not the time to suppress the truth.
