Odisha Train Accident: Rashtriya Janata Dal chief and former railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Saturday alleged that such a large number of casualties were due to negligence and lack of vigilance.
As per reports, around 290 people have died so far and as many as 900 people have been injured after three trains collided in Odisha’s Balasore district on Friday evening.
Lalu Yadav, who was the Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009, said, “ I have travelled in the Coromandel Express. The way they showed carelessness and lack of vigilance resulted in a large number of casualties. There should be a high-level inquiry and action should be taken. Action should be taken against those responsible for this… It was gross negligence, they have ruined the railways.”
