A passenger bus with around 35 people on board plunged into a roadside drain after being hit by a tractor coming from the opposite direction on the Balasore-Fuladi road near the Nuniajodi Bridge. Twenty-five passengers were injured and taken to the district hospital for medical treatment.
Speaking to ANI, Balasore Assistant Fire Officer, Samir Kumar Bisal said, "The bus was coming to Balasore from Jaleswar. The bus was speeding, it was hit by a tractor, lost its balance, and fell here. When we received the information, our team reached here and we saw that 5-6 people were trapped inside the bus. Our team brought them out. We also came to know that before we reached here, passengers were shifted to the district HQ hospital in 4-5 ambulances. Nobody had very serious injuries."

He also mentioned, "The bus driver and helper had come out of the vehicle. So, there weren't many serious injuries. 1-2 people had sustained a few serious injuries. They are under treatment.. No casualties were reported. Efforts are still underway. Bus is being lifted, search and rescue will be carried out even after that."
