Luthra Brothers Goa Night Club: Shocking revelations have emerged following the Goa nightclub fire and the arrest of the owners, the Luthra brothers, in Thailand. A woman who visited their venue, Birch by Romeo Lane, said the bouncers behaved like goons. Vaibhavi, who was at Romeo Lane on the night of November 6–7, recounted that the bouncers routinely used threats and force.
According to her, they hurled abuses and resorted to violence against anyone who resisted. She added that they seemed to operate without fear of the police, leaving visitors with virtually no scope to file a complaint. Speaking to the media, she detailed what happened to her and described the brutality she says she faced from the Luthra Brothers’ bouncers.
About the nightclub – suffocating!
Vaibhavi said she visited the Beach Shack at Romeo Lane on November 1 with 12 others, including her cousin. She described the club as cramped and poorly ventilated, with only one entry and one exit, making movement difficult when the crowd swells. That night, she said, the staff spoke rudely and behaved in an inappropriate manner. As the group of 13 was leaving around 3 a.m., they found a heavy chair blocking the way, which her cousin pushed aside with his foot.
Bouncers hurled filthy abuses, chased and beat women
Vaibhavi explained that the manager saw her brother removing the chair and told him he was damaging the furniture. The manager said that he should have been thrown out earlier. According to her, the nightclub manager then grabbed her brother’s collar and began speaking rudely. When he apologised and tried to leave, he called security and bouncers. “They followed and started assaulting him. It was difficult to leave the club, so they chased and beat people. He punched my sister in the chest and pushed her so hard that she went tumbling down the stairs,” Vaibhavi said.
“Bouncers never allowed anyone to leave”
According to Vaibhavi, the bouncers barricaded the entry gate to stop anyone from leaving. When her brother tried to move one of them aside, a bouncer charged at him with a rod and began beating him. When she pushed the bouncer to stop the assault, he hit her as well. She said they used filthy language she had never heard before. Because everyone was badly injured, they decided not to go to the police station immediately but to go the next morning. They informed the police, who asked them to come to the Anjuna Police Station the following day. With great difficulty, they managed to file an FIR.
Luthra Brothers Removed from FIR
Vaibhavi said she had included the names of both owners in her complaint. Still, the police later removed them, claiming the brothers were not physically present during the incident and therefore could not be held responsible. She warned that if women’s and tourists’ safety is not taken seriously, such incidents will continue in Goa. She also said she was saddened to hear about the recent fire, adding that such a disaster could have occurred at that nightclub at any time because the building itself was unsafe.
