A nurse was found dead at a nursing home in West Bengal’s Hooghly district on Friday. The police found the woman’s body hanging from the ceiling in the nursing home.
According to PTI, the 24-year-old woman’s body was found on the third floor of the nursing hostel in Singur. The family members of the deceased alleged that she was sexually assaulted and murdered as she highlighted irregularities in the operations of the nursing home.
The management of the nursing home rejected the allegations of irregularities and claimed that she died by suicide. The woman had joined the nursing home four days ago.
A senior police officer said they are awaiting the autopsy report before taking further action.
