Korba, Chhattisgarh: The Korba Police have successfully unraveled the grim murder mystery surrounding Wasim Ansari from Ranchi. The chilling incident unfolded in Chaitma village, where Raja Khan and his girlfriend Rehana lured Wasim Ansari to their rented residence. Together, they brutally murdered him during the night, dismembering his body into 17 pieces using a sharp weapon, which they subsequently stored in a freezer.
The perpetrators didn’t stop there. The following day, they discarded half of the dismembered remains, concealed in a bagpack, into the nearby Gopalpur dam. The subsequent night saw them dispose of the remaining parts in a sack, further deepening the heinous nature of their crime.
Rehana’s calculated manipulation played a pivotal role in this tragedy. Earlier, having befriended Wasim during a train journey, she had also forged a friendship with Raja Khan. Their association soon turned into a affair, unbeknownst to Wasim, who had been away in Saudi Arabia at the time.

Determined to sever ties with Wasim, she(Rehana) and Raja meticulously planned his murder, also ordered a weapon online. Upon Wasim’s return to Bilaspur at Rehana’s behest, they executed their plan, ruthlessly ending his life and concealing his remains over two days, sparking widespread alarm among local residents.

The disturbing saga took an even darker turn with revelations of Rehana and Raja’s exploitation of Wasim. Their manipulation included creating a nude video of him through their interactions on Instagram, which they then used to extort a substantial sum from him.
Prior to the murder, Rehana had meticulously gathered details of Wasim’s financial accounts, enabling her and Raja to illicitly withdraw Rs 8 lakh from his bank account. The financial misconduct further highlights the callous intentions behind their actions.
Despite attempts to evade capture, the long arm of the law caught up with Raja Khan and Rehana in Odisha on Thursday night. Their apprehension followed an intensive investigation by Korba Police, who meticulously pieced together the details of the crime.
