DGP Rajeev Sharma said, “It was a major challenge to convey to the people and all stakeholders linked with the criminal justice system, and the details of the laws that were enacted by the Indian Parliament for its citizens. The Union Home Ministry had already started working on this in advance after instructions were issued by the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah. After the implementation of these laws from July 1, 2024, there was not a single report from any police station across the nation indicating that they were facing any kind of problem due to the changes in the laws. There was no difficulty in filing cases or any kind of disruption in the system. The smooth transition took place because of the advance preparations by the Union Home Ministry, and the laws were implemented easily.”
