People living in Noida’s Sector 8, 9, and 10 shanties are forced to buy filtered water by paying money as the quality of tap water provided by the Noida Authority is poor.Residents alleged that the water smells and it is hard to use in daily routine. The average consumption of each house is 40 litres, and they are paying Rs 20 a litre.
People describe the current water crisis by claiming that supplied water exists only to bathe with and wash clothes. The people in these areas obtain their water supply from purchases because the tap water does not serve as a suitable drink or cooking source. The population spends 40 liters of water daily by purchasing bottles from two different vendors. The total expense for one water bottle amounts to 20 Rupees.
The residents residing in Sector 8, 9 and 10 slum areas report that their tap water cannot be consumed safely. The residents have made persistent complaints about dirty water to Noida Authority yet the authority has failed to take any action. People must purchase two drinking bottles each day to fulfill both cooking requirements and drinking needs. One bottle of drinking water costs Indian money twenty rupees.
Homeowners must obtain the bottles at a water plant after their purchase. Inhabitants from this area state they must pay above 5000 rupees for their monthly water expenses. The price of water tends to rise during holidays that happen between specific intervals. Which spoils our budget. The head officials for the authority avoid visiting these areas. Residents accuse the officials of neglecting their duties which forces them to purchase water for drinking purposes.
According to women, unclean water enters the faucets. The unpleasant smell from the tap water puts residents in an adverse state. We have consumed water throughout our past years. Multiple occasions of creating disturbances about drinking water supply have occurred. Each time authority officials make promises that never result in action. Women state that the authority maintains its office location within their residential area. The citizens fail to obtain safe drinking water despite being promised by authorities. The authority states it provides clean water services within the sectors. The actual situation stands contrary to these claims.
According to Satyanarayan there exist thousands of families residing in poor neighborhoods. The supply of drinkable water through tap pipes has remained absent for two decades. He has purchased water as his routine for multiple years. The supply of drinkable water through taps has never been delivered even once since its availability. He states that growing heat levels drive up both the amount of water consumed and the cost paid for it. Mukesh complains about receiving no clean water supply since the authorities failed to take responsibility for his situation. The person must find someone to submit his complaints because those at fault have abandoned their positions.
The Noida Authority confirms that Sector 8 through Sector 10 receives water supply from its system. When residents report dirty water in their supply the authority conducts investigations at the site. The authority will inspect the issue when residents complain about receiving dirty water despite previous inspections. A top priority of their organization remains to offer clean water delivery to all residents. A solution will be provided to the people within the three sectors in the near future.
