Air quality in Delhi NCR is deteriorating day-by-day, for this the government has taken several steps to deal with the pollution level in the national capital. Currently Delhi is dealing with the poor air quality, which brings risk to people’s health. Also, the region is under the stage 4 of GRAP.
Delhi-NCR witnessing the worst air made DM of Gautam Buddha Nagar to extend the closure of schools till November 25. This closure applies to students of classes nursery to class 12th.
As per the last direction the online classes will keep on going as scheduled. This extension of online classes and closure of school is due to the poor quality of air in Gautam Buddha Nagar.
Earlier, as per the decision made by the DM schools were closed until November 23. The update came on Sunday November 24 to make the extension regarding the closing date of schools.
The notice mentions that, the discontinuation of physical classes in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Pre School to Class 12th due to the breach of Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi-NCR to ‘severe plus’ category with (450+ AQI). All schools of the District Gautam Buddha Nagar are directed to follow the above order till 25th November 2024.
Currently, Delhi-NCR is under the GRAP Stage IV. Under this several restricts has been made. Like, Medium and Heavy vehicles with diesel engine (BSIV or below) registered in Delhi are prohibited. Another restriction is only the vehicles which are carrying essential goods are allowed in Delhi.
