Noida: Rs 1 Lakh Penalty Imposed On 76 Schools, Seven Probe Committees Formed

The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has imposed a penalty of ₹1 lakh each on approximately 100 private schools in Noida and Greater Noida for failing to comply with an Allahabad High Court order.

A District Fee Regulatory Committee session conducted at the Collectorate building of Gautam Buddha Nagar on Friday which was led by the District Magistrate. The Committee examined fee increase proposals that 144 schools submitted from the district during the review meeting.

Three Noida Schools Exceed Fee Hike Limits

The District Fee Regulatory Committee discovered that Amar Public School in Sector-37 Noida together with Paras Public School and Sant Kishori Vidya Mandir in Sector-158 Noida increased their fees above the acceptable limits surpassing five percent and CPI. The schools received official orders requiring explanation regarding their additional fee collections during the following seven-day period.

Penalty Imposed On 76 Schools For Non-Compliance

The committee enforced severe penalties against the seventy-six institutions which did not give fee hike details. All seventy-six schools falling under the Uttar Pradesh Self-Financed Independent Schools (Fee Regulation) Act of 2018 had to pay a ₹1 lakh fine during this period. The educational institutions had one week to respond to show-cause notices that the authorities provided to them.

Submission Of Staff Salary Hike Records Ordered

The District Inspector of Schools through Dr. Dharamveer Singh ordered all educational institutions to submit their academic and non-academic staff salary hike records spanning the years 2024-25 to 2025-26 during one week. Last month the committee established a policy requiring all school fee adjustments to be presented on their website at least sixty days in advance.

Tehsil-Level Inspections To Prevent Vendor Pressure on Parents

The tehsil level inspections will be performed by City Magistrates along with Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars to ascertain that schools refrain from pressuring parents to obtain uniforms and shoes and related items from particular vendors.
