Two students of Uttarakhand Public School in Noida ran away after their fear of being scolded by their parents over poor exam results. The boys were later traced to Delhi after Noida police scanned over 500 CCTV cameras to trace out their locations.

Scared Students After Poor Test Results

The incident began when students Aryan Chaurasia and Nitin Dhyan of Uttarakhand Public School in Sector-56 were informed by their teacher that they had secured low marks in an internal exam. The teacher gave them their test sheets and asked them to get their parents’ signatures and bring them along the next day.

Missing Report Filed And Police Action Begins

When Aryan and Nitin failed to come home, their anxious parents reached out to Noida police. A missing person report was lodged, and a massive search operation was launched. Seven police teams were formed to find the missing kids.

The police launched the investigation by scanning over 500 CCTV cameras in and around the school area. The boys were captured on camera leaving the school gate, and later, their movements were traced near Modi Mall in Sector 25 of Noida.

Boys Found in Delhi After Extensive Search

The plain-clothed police along with the uniformed one spread in the area in order to trace the boys with speed. During the wee hours of the morning, after an extended search, Aryan and Nitin were traced in Delhi’s Anand Vihar – a whole 40 km from the school in Noida.

Gratitude And Counselling

Later, after the recovery of the boys, their families thanked the Noida police for the efforts put in by them. The parents even felicitated the police team for swift action. Commissioner of Police Lakshmi Singh also rewarded the police team with a Rs 20,000 reward for a great job done in recovering the missing children.

Noida Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh also counseled the children and their parents. She tried to explain in detail the importance of communication and finding a way to handle such situations and supportive ways of bad academic performance.

Reason For The Noida Incident

The whole incident happened because the two boys were disturbed by their parents’ scolding over their poor show in an internal examination. The result of this fear was that instead of waiting to face their parents, the boys made a rash decision to run away. However, fortunately, the Noida police managed to act in time, ensuring that the children returned home safely.

Police Efforts Praised

The efficiency and speed with which police in Noida tracked the missing boys were hailed across all borders. The use of CCTV footage, mobilization, and coordination between teams ensured that the result was positive. This incident has brought to light a need for increased security and surveillance around schools to avert such situations in the future.
