Noida Metro: Good News! NMRC Set To Link Botanical Garden With Sector-142 – Check Details

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) is set to enhance connectivity in the region with a new metro corridor linking Botanical Garden to Sector 142.

The construction of 11.56 kilomtre metro line from Botanical Garden of Delhi Metro to the Sector 142 metro station in Noida will soon begin in next three months. The NMRC is waiting for approval from the central government.

Current Problem

In the absence of smooth metro line from Delhi Metro to Noida metro, commuters have ro exit at Sector 52 metro station and walk or take e-rickshaw to catch Aqua line of Noida metro, Sector 51.

After the expansion of the metro line, a direct link will ease travel and significantly reduce travel time. The Botanical Garden metro station serves as an interchange for the Blue and Magenta lines.

Route And Cost Details

1. This new corridor will feature 8 stations spanning 11.56 km.
2. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 2,254 crore.
3. Once completed, the link will further enhance connectivity between Noida, Greater Noida, and key transport hubs such as Indira Gandhi International Airport and major railway stations.
4. Currently, NMRC operates the Aqua Line from Sector 51 to Greater Noida, and this new link will further strengthen the metro network.

NMRC’s Proposed Metro Projects

NMRC has proposed the following two key metro projects:

1. The priority extension from Botanical Garden to Sector 142 (11.56 km).
2. The ongoing construction of the Sector 51 to Knowledge Park-5 extension (5 km), which aims to improve connectivity between Noida and Greater Noida West.
