Noida: Man Shot Dead Inside Rented flat In Sector 12

A man who had recently moved into a rented flat in Noida was shot dead, according to police reports.

Panic erupted in Noida, Sector 12, after a man was allegedly shot dead inside a flat on Wednesday afternoon, police said, adding that a case was registered and efforts are underway to nab the suspect. Police said the deceased has been identified as Ompal Singh, who originally hailed from Bulandshahr.

Police investigation revealed that on Tuesday, Singh had come to see a rented flat in Noida, Sector 12 W block. “After finalising the flat, on Wednesday Singh returned again and deposited the token amount to get the possession. In the afternoon, when he was cleaning the flat, one of his friends approached.” said Noida deputy commissioner of police, Yamuna Prasad. 

DCP Prasad said, “During the cleaning, a fight broke out between Singh and his friend, and he shot him. As the landlord and locals heard the gunshot sound, they rushed to the spot, and the suspect managed to flee, leaving his two-wheeler behind.

As police received information on emergency helpline number 112, a team of Noida police rushed to the spot and secured the crime scene. “We have sent the body for post-mortem and registered a case at Sector 24 police station. Further investigation is on,” he said.
