Noida Man Duped Of Rs 6.5 Crore After Falling Victim To Online Dating Scam Linked To Fake Trading Platform

A man living in Noida got cheated of Rs 6.5 crore. This happened after the man came to know about the online dating app, that deceived him into investing in an online trading platform. The man is owner of Delhi-based company and is living in Noida Sector 36. The Noida resident, Daljit Singh filed complaint on Wednesday with the Cyber Crime Police. The woman deceived him through an offer which promised earning money without needing any trading experience.

In December 2024 Daljit Singh started using the dating application where he encountered Anita Chauhan. Before his initial investment of Rs 3.2 lakh Daljit convinced the businessman to put money into the trading website through which he could receive Rs 24,000 in returns. After his success from the investment he moved forward to transfer Rs 6.52 crore into a variety of bank accounts that included loans.

The problem started when Daljit sought his money from trading platforms SpreadMKT and Sprecdex.cc because they demanded a 30 percent security fee along with an extra Rs 61 lakh for exchange services, as reported by India Today. The businessman stated his safety was at risk because he thought someone had stolen his bank account details along with his mother's safety. Daljit pushed the police to investigate quickly by giving them information about account transactions and contact and platform details of the woman and trading websites.
