As per a recent order, schools in Gautam Buddh Nagar will remain closed on the 21st. The announcement was made by the district administration ahead of the Guru Dronacharya Fair. The closure, applicable to all government and private schools, has been implemented to ensure student safety amid the expected large crowds at the fair in Dankaur.
The district administration stated that the move is aimed at ensuring student safety and managing the large crowds expected during the fair.
Officials highlighted that the fair attracts thousands of visitors from the district and neighbouring areas. The high footfall, combined with vehicular movement around Dankaur and nearby roads, could pose problems for school buses. Authorities believe that keeping schools closed for the day will help avoid potential accidents and allow smoother crowd management.
Parents and school authorities have been informed about the closure through official channels. Most schools have circulated notices to students and guardians, advising them not to come to school tomorrow.
The Guru Dronacharya Fair is held annually in honour of the legendary teacher, Guru Dronacharya. The event features religious ceremonies, cultural programmes, and community gatherings. Authorities stated that crowd-control measures will be in place, but caution is still necessary given the scale of the event.
Transportation and local administration teams will coordinate to maintain traffic flow and ensure public safety around the temple and nearby areas. This announcement underscores the district administration’s focus on student safety. Officials have further advised travellers to plan their day accordingly.
