A 710 metre long four-lane underpass is set to be constructed near the Parthala Bridge, which will significantly ease traffic jams and improve travel times for those heading to Delhi or other nearby cities.
The Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) has announced plans to build a underpass under the Parthala Signature Bridge in Noida. This development is expected to improve traffic flow in the area, especially as the FNG Expressway is nearing its full operational capacity.
Project Details
The underpass, which will feature four lanes, is estimated to cost around Rs 82.5 crore. It will be connected to the road linking Chhijarsi to Sorkha, enhancing access to the expressway and improving connectivity between key regions in Noida. Once completed, this underpass will ensure smoother travel for commuters, especially those heading towards Greater Noida West and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.
Improving Traffic Flow
This new underpass is designed to reduce traffic congestion in the area, particularly at the Chhijarsi roundabout. Currently, traffic is manageable due to the incomplete status of the expressway, but Noida Authority officials believe that once the expressway is fully operational, the underpass will play a crucial role in keeping traffic flowing smoothly.
Future Benefits
The underpass near the Parthala Signature Bridge will not only benefit commuters traveling to Delhi but will also offer relief to local residents of Phase 2 and Sorkha. The project will help address existing traffic bottlenecks, making it easier for people to navigate the city and its surrounding areas.
After finalizing the necessary details, the proposal will be presented to Dr. Lokesh M, CEO of the Noida Authority, for approval. Once approved, construction will begin, bringing much-needed relief to commuters in the region.
With this underpass, Noida is one step closer to improving its road infrastructure and providing a smoother, faster commute for everyone.
