Police registered an abetment to suicide case against the female friend of the software engineer who died by suicide at a hotel in Noida on April 10. Police said they have arrested Iram Khan and sent her behind bars.
Suicide Took Place In Noida On April 10
Deceased Umesh Kumar Singh’s brother Krishikant alleged that Iram and his friend Santosh were harassing his brother over money. Due to immense pressure, he ended his life by hanging from a ceiling fan. At the time of the incident, Iram was at the hotel.
Blackmailed Him Over ₹30 Lakh
Umesh lost roughly ₹30 lakh due to financial abuse by Iram and Santosh. When he asked for money, he received relentless abuse and psychological pressure from both of them. Umesh stayed with Iram for two years until both parties agreed to it. When the tragedy took place, the couple was in Noida for medical care for their dog.
They Met Through A Dating App
Umesh had married, but his marital problems caused him to live separately from his wife. The two lived separately. Later, he met Iram on a dating site.
Police Interrogation Revealed Details
Iram told police detectives that they had taken their dog to the hotel. The two had a dispute about how to properly care for their dog. Umesh eventually committed suicide.
