The Noida Authority performs an investigation to build foot overbridges (FOBs) at primary traffic-packed sites to ensure pedestrian protection. The rising traffic levels together with the rise in road accidents led to this decision.
This survey will determine the locations where FOBs need to be constructed. Authorities conduct surveys to identify both dangerous road-crossing areas and high-risk locations where accidents are apt to happen. According to available data more than 50 locations have been chosen for building FOBs.
Potential Locations For FOBs
The authority is currently examining specific areas where numerous pedestrians exist without proper road-crossing facilities. Locations in this region encounter greater risks of accidents when people attempt to cross the streets. Vehicular traffic operates at high speeds throughout multiple Noida routes which restricts pedestrian safety when crossing the road.
The authority has taken steps toward FOB construction to solve this problem. The authority first focuses on building FOBs at locations near metro stations and busy markets combined with schools, colleges and office complexes. The construction of FOBs needs to be implemented in Sector-18, Sector-62, Film City, Botanical Garden and Mahamaya Flyover along with Expressway vicinity areas according to official declarations.
Authority Conducting Surveys
The Noida Authority staff members are performing site surveys across all possible locations at present. The survey will finish followed by construction plan preparation as per the generated report. The selected locations will receive tenders before the start of construction work. FOBs are anticipated to simplify traffic crossings through safer conditions while lowering roadway accidents and creating safer roadways by reducing congestion.
Public Suggestions Invited For FOB Construction
Noida Authority officials revealed that they will establish the budget from the survey report before starting priority construction. Officials who analyze traffic believe municipal development of more FOBs throughout the city can create safer traffic junctions and minimize road dangers. The Noida Authority welcomes citizen submission of suggestions about areas where FOBs should be built. The authority intends to establish an upcoming online feedback portal which will serve this purpose.
