The population of numerous societies in Noida has united to contest the authorities about the presence of the dumping ground. A very disturbing piece of information emerged during this period. Evidence shows that the Noida Authority constructed a dumping site in Sector 32 without acquiring the necessary approval from the Pollution Department. One must acquire the Pollution Department’s permission to build a dumping ground. Multiple reliable sources indicate that the Noida Authority has failed to obtain Pollution Department authorization to construct the planned dumping sites across the remaining three locations, as reported by Junaid Akhtar.
Noida Authority Issued Tender
Noida Authority plans to establish three locations for garden waste disposal as dumping sites yet they have not obtained necessary authorization from the pollution department. The information emerged through RTI applications. Noida Authority published tenders to construct garbage dumping sites positioned in Sector-117, 58, and 150 for the disposal of garden debris. Officials of the authority confirmed that open dumping sites will be established at all three designated locations. A tendering process currently taking place for this project.
When Will The Tender Get Open?
As per reports, the tender will be opened on April 2. Prior to site selection for a dumping ground construction, the authority needed all relevant environmental clearances according to existing guidelines however they neglected to obtain these permits. The information regarding this surfaced through RTI documents. What caused the pollution department to omit to grant authorization for the construction of the dumping ground remains unexplained. Lawful authorities hint at issuing a notice against Noida Authority to the pollution department soon.
What Is Revealed In RTI?
Pollution Control Board regional office received an RTI request from Sector 77 resident Amit upta regarding this matter. Through his response to the RTI Assistant Environmental Engineer Kishan Singh has delivered substantial details. According to Amit Gupta the authority obtained no approvals or NOCs for any of their three operation locations.
