Noida’s entertainment landscape is all set to get a major boost with the Noida Authority giving the go ahead to the launch of a theme park project at the Great India Place (GIP) Mall located in Sector 38-A. A board meeting held on March 28 gave approval for the ambitious project. Entertainment City Limited will develop the theme park project, which will be completed in four stages.
First Stage
The first section of the park consists of India’s biggest mythological theme park inspired by Mahabharata and Ramayana. The rides will be inspired from Ramayana-based Pushpak Viman flying chariot.
A senior official told Hindustan Times, “This section alone is expected to generate employment for 3,400 people and a monthly revenue of Rs 1.5 crore.”
Second Stage
The second stage will have a leading sports arena with 9D technology. This will include sixty interactive video games and a technologically advanced aquarium. The section of the project is likely to generate monthly revenue of Rs 1.3 crore. Apart from this it will generate about 600 new jobs opportunities.
Third Stage
The third section featuring snow themes requires a Rs 9 crore investment to produce Rs 27 lakhs of monthly income and is likely to generate about 500 jobs. A family entertainment zone will contribute to revenue generation.
The authority has stated that the project can only commence once Entertainment City Limited makes the necessary payments. The assigned land covers 600,000 square meters, although Entertainment City Limited has made payments totaling Rs 114 crore but still owes Rs 164 crore.
