The Noida Metro Rail Corporation has revealed a plan to link the Noida Airport near the Yamuna Expressway with the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. This will be done though the enhanced metro route.
Preparations are being made to extend the metro from Aerocity to Kalindi Kunj. According to media reports, the Golden Line metro will be extended for this purpose. As of now this route goes from Aerocity to Tughlakabad. However, when the route gets extended then people will get a direct connection to Kalindi Kunj.
It will save time for people going by road to reach different corners of the city. The proposal is submitted by Chief Project Manager of DMRC Shiv Om Dwivedi. Under this proposal comes the making of a 5-Km elevated metro route. This route will join Tughlakabad to the Kalindi Kunj.
Under this extension comes two stations that is Sarita Vihar and Madanpur Khadar. The cost for the construction will be around Rs 950 crore. DMRC has requested this amount from the Yamuna Development Authority.
This connection of the Golden Route to the Kalindi Kunj is likely to be linked with the Magenta Line. Once this gets executed, it will enhance the connectivity.
The Botanical Garden station will become the major point in this extension. This will benefit both the residents of Noida and Greater Noida. It will make people reach Noida Airport and Delhi Airport using the metro very easily. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has planned to complete the construction work within three years.
