External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is expected to represent India at the meetings. US President Donald Trump will attend the summit in Kuala Lumpur from October 26 to 28. Modi’s absence would mean avoiding a possible meeting with the American President amid trade-related strains in bilateral ties.
