No Electricity In SOBO! South Mumbai Dives Into Darkness Due To Power Cut

Reports indicate that parts of South Mumbai experienced a blackout on Thursday due to a power failure in the state.

Mumbai: Parts of the south Mumbai plunged into the darkness on Thursday due to power failure in the state, as per reports.

Officials reported that localities including Mahapalika Marg, Marine Lines, and Crawford Market were affected by the electricity outage, which began around 8:35 pm due to a power tripping. Efforts are underway to restore the power supply.

It’s worth noting that the financial capital typically benefits from an islanding system designed to maintain continuity in power supply.

The disruption was caused by a fault in a supply line, according to the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking.

A spokesperson from BEST explained that a 33 Kilovolt feeder from Tata Power’s Carnac Bunder facility, which connects to the G T Hospital receiving station operated by BEST, experienced a trip, leading to the power outage.

Fortunately, power supply has been completely restored, as confirmed by the spokesperson.

It’s worth noting that the financial capital has an islanding system in place, which typically ensures uninterrupted power supply.
