T. Jeevan Reddy, a senior Congress leader and party candidate from Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency, Telangana sparked controversy when he slapped a woman.

On Friday, a widely circulated video on social media showed the former minister slapping a woman during campaigning. The incident took place in a village in the Armur Assembly segment while the Congress candidate was campaigning with some other leaders.

Jeevan Reddy allegedly slapped the woman, a laborer under the rural employment guarantee scheme, after she informed him that she would vote for the ‘flower’ symbol in the May 13 election.
Accompanied by P. Vinay Kumar Reddy, who lost the Assembly election from Armur, Telangana the Congress candidate was informed by the woman that despite voting for Congress in the recent Assembly elections, she was not receiving her pension. Armur, one of the seven Assembly segments under the Nizamabad Lok Sabha seat, will witness Jeevan Reddy of Congress challenging sitting MP D. Arvind of BJP.
