Janata Dal (U), the party led by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, became the decisive factor in forming the next government as the BJP did not achieve a majority in the Lok Sabha elections.

While Kumar is currently part of the NDA, he has gained notoriety as “paltu-ram” due to his frequent switches in allegiance. The JDU has secured victories in six constituencies and is leading in six others across Bihar.

At the time of reporting, the BJP has won and is leading in 240 constituencies, whereas INDIA has a lead and recorded wins in 223 constituencies.

Nitish Kumar was among the leaders who united opposition parties under the INDIA bloc but switched to the BJP months before the Lok Sabha elections.

While all attention will be on Nitish and his next political move, social media users have come up with some hilarious memes about him. Given his history, social media joked that Nitish might switch sides again. Many quipped that Nitish might be inundated with calls from both parties while enjoying the attention.

Meanwhile, JDU spokesperson KC Tyagi stated that they will continue to support the NDA. “…We continue with our previous stand. Under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, JD(U) once again expresses its support for the NDA… We are with the NDA, we will continue to be with the NDA,” Tyagi said.
