What Did The Lawyer Say?
Gadkari’s lawyer, Balendu Shekhar, stated that his client was taken aback upon uncovering the misleading content and posts from the official Congress account, which intentionally shared a 19-second video excerpt of an interview Gadkari had given to “The Lallantop” web portal.
As per the lawyer’s statement, the Congress party deliberately misrepresented the true intention and significance of Nitin Gadkari’s remarks to sow confusion and damage his reputation. Additionally, it suggests that there may be an ulterior motive to create discord within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the upcoming general election led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The legal notice demands the immediate removal of the aforementioned post from the microblogging platform ‘X’ within 24 hours of receipt of the notice, accompanied by a written apology to Gadkari within three days. Failure to comply would result in Gadkari pursuing all available legal avenues, both civil and criminal, at the recipient’s expense.
What Did The Video Say About Nitin Gadkari?
Furthermore, the notice asserts that the video clip shared by Kharge and Ramesh distorted the context of Gadkari’s interview and lacked the necessary contextual understanding. It accuses them of intentionally and consciously manipulating the narrative by using a selective Hindi caption that misrepresents Gadkari’s statements regarding the government’s efforts. Despite being fully aware of the interview’s complete contents, which highlighted the government’s initiatives, Kharge and Ramesh allegedly chose to share only the misleading caption and video clip to tarnish Gadkari’s reputation.
