New Delhi: Nita Ambani, first woman to be elected as International Olympic Committee (IOC) member from India, hosted IOC president Thomas Bach at her residence on Tuesday. Mukesh D. Ambani also accompanied Nita during the event.

The event took place ahead of the 141st IOC Session,which is going to be held in Mumbai. This IOC meeting marks India’s return to hosting the event after a 40-year gap and is an excellent opportunity to showcase the country’s contributions to the Olympic Movement.

The IOC Session in Mumbai offers a platform for international partners to engage with the passionate Indian sports fan base, reaching both grassroots and elite levels. Nita Ambani played a significant role in securing the hosting rights for the 2023 IOC Session. The proposal was presented at the 139th IOC Session in 2023, with Nita Ambani leading a delegation. The proposal received overwhelming support with 99 percent of the votes from participating delegates.
