Jammu: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted raids at different places in Doda and Jammu. According to sources, raids are on at present.
The NIA had conducted searches at nine places in Jammu and Kashmir in the Chanapora arms seizure case last month.
Of the nine locations searched by the NIA, four were in Srinagar district and five in Pulwama district. The NIA said that the locations of the accused were searched and incriminating material, including digital devices, were recovered and seized from the suspects in the case.
NIA had nabbed 4 suspects in July
Four accused were also arrested from whom 15 pistols, 30 magazines, 300 rounds and an SUV were seized. The case was initially registered at Chanapora Police Station in Srinagar after the recovery of the weapon. After this, the case was registered again by the NIA in June.
ISIS member arrested from Delhi on Sunday
Meanwhile, the NIA on Saturday arrested a radical and active member of the Islamic State (ISIS) from his residence in Delhi, who was involved in collecting funds for sympathizers of the terrorist organization in India as well as abroad, and transporting him to Syria and involved in sending to other places.
The accused has been identified as Mohsin Ahmed, a resident of Batla House, New Delhi. According to the central agency, the accused Mohsin Ahmed is a hardcore and active member of ISIS. According to official sources, he has been arrested for his involvement in the collection of funds for ISIS from sympathizers in India and abroad.
Investigation continues in relation to terrorist Mohsin Ahmed
The counter-terrorism agency further stated that Mohsin Ahmed was remitting these funds in the form of cryptocurrencies to Syria and elsewhere to further the activities of ISIS. At present, the investigation is going on in this regard.
Ahmed was produced before the duty magistrate in a local court on Sunday where he was sent on one-day remand. At the same time, today Mohsin Ahmed is believed to be produced in the special court of NIA.
