New Delhi: National Investigation Agency (NIA) is working in full force. They have raided various places in six states throughout India. They have acted on working of ISIS modules in India.
NIA is working on ISIS modules and been tracking down various suspects associated with them. They have nabbed suspects in Bhopal and Silwani in Raisen district.
NIA detains suspect for questioning
NIA has detained a suspect in Bhopal for questioning. The suspect has been identified as a resident of White Hall in Abbas Nagar area. The are comes under the Gandhinagar Police Station in Bhopal.
Suspect’s elder brother connected to ISIS
According to sources, the suspect’s elder brother is said to have a connection with ISIS. The elder brother is currently being told to be absconding. NIA is questioning the detained individual at an undisclosed location.
The team of NIA has conducted various raids in Bhopal in the morning. A large number of NIA officials had arrived for raids in many vehicles.
NIA raids 13 locations in 6 states
NIA has conducted raid at 13 different locations in 6 states including Madhya Pradesh. The raids were carried out in Bharuch, Surat, Navsari in Gujarat. raids were also conducted in Araria district of Bihar and Bhatkal and Tumkur districts of Karnataka.
Apart from these places NIA also conducted raids in Kolhapur and Nanded district of Maharashtra and Deoband district of Uttar Pradesh. All these aid have been carried out in the case pertaining to the activities of ISIS.
NIA took suo moto in the case
The case was registered as a suo moto cognizance by NIA itself on 25 June, 2022. The case was registered under sections 153A, 153B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Section 18, 18B, 38, 39 and 40 of the UAPA [Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967].
These searches have led to the seizure of incriminating documents and materials against suspects. Further investigation in the case are underway.
