Jammu and Kashmir probe agencies

Aasif Suhaf, Srinagar:  The National and State level investigative organisations in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are doing a big clampdown against the terrorists and terror sympathisers. In the last few months, Organisations like NIA, SIA and others have attached assets of more than 300 terrorists and their supporters. Here is a report.

In a major blow to the terrorist organisations active in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, hundreds of properties have been attached by the government sleuths in the last few months. The action is not only against the terrorists and terror sympathisers but also against the separatist leaders and the banned Islamic organisation Jamaat-e-Islami.

DG, of Jammu Kashmir Police Dilbagh Singh, said ”The attachment of properties is being done after a proper investigation. It’s not a play that we are playing, but when we find that the property of a person has been willfully used by any terrorists we take action. We are always aware of people not letting anyone use their property. If you ferry a terrorist in your car and that car is seized, is that wrong? If you give space to terrorists in your house and we attack the house, is that wrong? Whenever there is willful support given to terrorists by people, action would be taken against them.”

The properties which have been attached by the Investigative agencies include top separatist leaders, terrorist commanders and some members of the Jamaat-e-Islami. Among the attached 170 properties from the Jammu region, 118 are from Doda, 36 are from Kishtwar and 14 are from Rajouri Poonch. And in the Kashmir region over 130 properties have been attached in Srinagar, Anantnag and Kupwara.

The government believes that the action taken against the network is helping bring down terrorism in the Union Territory. According to the Government, the funding that these terror groups used to get has been completely finished.

DG, of Jammu Kashmir Police Dilbagh Singh, said that ”The SIA, SIU and NIA are working on it and we have called the narcotics control bureau along with us as well. This is how we finish the big cartels involved in various interstate and ramifications across the country. It’s a joint effort to finish these cartels and we are making all the efforts.
