New Delhi: An important meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) is scheduled to take place today. The meeting will be held at the official residence of the Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at 7 pm.

There is a possibility of an announcement of a new CM face in the meeting. This is being speculated as Gehlot is going to run for the post pf Congress National President next month.

Sachin Pilot is a possible CM face

Sachin Pilot is being seen as a possible candidate for the post of CM. Congress President Sonia Gandhi has appointed Mallikarjun Kharge as an observer. AICC in-charge Ajay Maken will also attend the meeting.

‘One man, one post’, non Gandhi Cong president

It is worth mentioning that three years ago in Udaipur, Rajasthan, the party had decided on the policy of ‘one man, one post’, due to which Gehlot would not be able to hold both the posts. Therefore, there is every possibility of him leaving the post of Chief Minister.

Although Gehlot had earlier insisted on Rahul Gandhi becoming the party president, Gandhi instead made it clear that the leadership would go to a non-Gandhi.

Lobbying begins for new CM

After the announcement of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to contest the election for the post of National President of Congress, the lobbying for the new Chief Minister has started in the state.

Sachin Pilot is being considered a strong contender for this post. But politics is a game of possibilities. In such a situation, many experts also say that it is difficult to make any claim about what will happen next.
