The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) is set to gift a “Happiness Park” to Trans Hindon residents in the new year, a project eagerly awaited by people from areas like Indirapuram, Vaishali, and Vasundhara.
This park will feature artworks made from scrap, designed to bring joy to visitors. Inspired by the concept of Lucknow’s Happiness Park, it will include attractions like a treehouse and “Walking in the Wood.” The authority has requested permission (NOC) from the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) to begin the project, which will officially start in the new year.
Originally, the park was planned to be built near the GDA nursery on Kalapathar Road, but after the handover of the area to the Indirapuram Municipal Corporation, the project was delayed. However, the GDA’s Garden Department has now resumed preparations and is actively working on the project again. They are awaiting the NOC from the GMC for the project to move forward.
In a special meeting, the GDA Vice Chairman approved the presentation for the park’s design, and a budget proposal was initially sent to the NCR Planning Board.
Park Theme: The park will have a theme-based design, with selfie points and interactive science illusions for children of all ages. It will also feature an open amphitheater for government and NGO events, similar to the one at City Forest Park. The park will include specialized zones like a Science Zone, Animal Zone, and Adventure Zone.
Phases of Park: The Happiness Park will be built in four phases across various locations, including the GDA Nursery, Divyang Park, Hathi Park, and Lohia Park. Each park will have children’s play areas with special swings made from scrap. Additionally, a Butterfly Park is also planned.
