New Road Safety Rules Coming Soon: Govt Strengthens Safety Across India – Check Details

New Road Safety Rules: To enhance road safety and enforcement precision, the government will soon introduce regulations mandating verification and stamping of traffic radar equipment nationwide, reported PTI. After thorough discussions with various stakeholders, including the Indian Institute of Legal Metrology, Regional Reference Laboratories, manufacturers, and vehicle certification organizations, the Consumer Affairs Ministry’s Legal Metrology Division has completed the draft rules, as per the report by PTI.

“The suggestions received during various consultations are examined carefully, and the rules will be notified shortly,” said the ministry in a statement. The new regulations, under the Legal Metrology (General) Rules, 2011, will apply “microwave Doppler radar equipment” used to measure vehicle speeds on roads.
