The official order is that no school will open its doors before 9:00 a.m. This change in start time is a preventative step to help pupils avoid the harsh early morning cold.

How are the winters in Delhi?

Today’s minimum temperature in the national capital was 3.5 degrees Celsius, and a heavy layer of fog was visible in various parts of the city.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature in Delhi today was four degrees lower than the season’s average. The weather service has forecast unusually dense fog and chilly wave conditions in the national capital for the next two days.

The air quality in Delhi and adjacent areas has also suffered as a result of the fog. To tackle this, the Centre mandated today the implementation of anti-pollution measures classed as Stage-III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR with immediate effect.

The GRAP Stage-III restrictions halt operations in stone crushers as well as any mining and related activities in the NCR. Furthermore, a rigorous restriction on construction and demolition activity has been imposed throughout the region, albeit with certain exceptions.
