Amid rising tensions over the Tirupati Laddu row, Indian Dairy Brand Amul stated on Friday that they never supplied ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) for the preparation of laddus. The statement was made after the Telugu Desam Party raised allegations of using ‘animal fat’ in prasad offered to Lord Venkateswara during the previous Jagan Reddy government.
In a post on the micro-blogging platform X, Amul said that their ghee is of the purest form and the best quality, made from milk at its ISO-certified production units. They assured that every drop of milk reaching the dairies undergoes strict quality and adulteration tests as mandated by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
