Nepal Social Media Protest Sparks Tension In India? Congress Office Vandalised- Arson Reported

Nepal continued to be tense on Tuesday, the second day of protests. People were angry about corruption and the ban on social media. The situation became very serious.

The impact of the Nepal protests is being felt in India as well. There are reports of protesters attacking the adjacent villages of India-Nepal border. On Wednesday, protests also took place in Darchula and Baitadi, Nepali areas adjacent to Jhulaghat and Dharchula. In Darchula, protesters vandalised the Congress and CPN-UML offices. Incidents of arson were also witnessed.

Protesters set fire to the Parliament House, Rashtrapati Bhavan, and the Supreme Court. They also vandalised and set fire to the personal residence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the houses and offices of many ministers and leaders. Because of the public anger, the government gave in, and Prime Minister Oli resigned.
