The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the final results for NEET-UG 2024 within the next two days, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated during a press conference on Tuesday. He mentioned that the NEET-UG merit list will be revised according to the Supreme Court’s observations made earlier that day.

Pradhan emphasized a strict stance on exam integrity, saying, ‘If anybody is found involved in exam irregularities, they will not be spared. Zero tolerance for any kind of breach; the sanctity of exams is supreme for us.’

This announcement follows the Supreme Court’s decision to reject demands for canceling NEET-UG 2024. The apex court ruled that there was insufficient evidence to conclude that the exam results were compromised or that there was a systemic breach in the exam’s sanctity. The three-judge bench, led by Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud, noted, ‘We are of the considered view that ordering the cancellation of the entire NEET-UG 2024 examination is neither justified…on the basis of the material on the record.’

Additionally, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) confirmed to the Supreme Court on Tuesday that the paper leak had indeed occurred in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh. This marks the first official acknowledgment from the agency since it took over the investigation in June.
