NEET UG 2024: Not 61, 17 Students Score Exact 720 In Revised Results

The updated NEET-UG results saw 17 candidates achieve a perfect score of 720, down from 61 initially. Qualifying cutoffs were adjusted, and gender diversity among top scorers increased, with four girls scoring 720 and 22 in the top 100.

NEET UG 2024 revised results
On Friday, the National Testing Agency (NTA) issued an updated NEET-UG results list, revealing 17 candidates as top scorers with a perfect 720 marks, a decrease from the earlier count of 61. Initially, the NEET-UG results declared on June 4 listed 67 candidates achieving a perfect score of 720. The number was adjusted to 61 after re-evaluating, including a retest for 1,563 candidates given grace marks for time loss. In the latest updated results released on Friday, six candidates achieved a score of 716, while the remaining 77 candidates within the top 100 all scored 715. From 2019 to 2023, NEET-UG has never had more than three top scorers in any single year (as in 2021). Earlier this week, the Supreme Court made an expert committee from IIT Delhi with determining the accurate answer to a Physics question. Upon receiving the committee's recommendation, the Supreme Court directed the NTA to amend the results and designate only one option as the correct answer. As a result, the 44 candidates who were initially granted grace marks saw their scores of 720 adjusted to 715. Following the revised results, the total number of qualifying candidates has decreased by 415.
