Prerna Singh’s Journey
Despite many difficulties, Prerna was dedicated to clear the NEET exam. She studied for 10 to 12 hours a day in a tiny room where she could only sit, not lie down. Prerna and her siblings managed their daily needs with just ₹500 per month from their late mother’s pension, with some help from relatives. Due to a lack of money, she often ate only one meal a day and either walked or rode a bicycle because she couldn’t afford public transport.
After facing many struggles, Prerna achieved great success in NEET UG 2023. She cleared the exam in her first attempt and secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 1,033 out of 2.5 lakh students who qualified. She scored 686 out of 720 marks.
In an interview, Prerna mentioned that her biggest inspiration was her father, who always taught her to never give up on her dreams. She also spoke about her family’s financial difficulties, including ongoing mortgage payments and other money problems. Prerna hopes to continue her education after completing her MBBS and wants to contribute to medical research in the future.
