New details are emerging daily about the NEET UG exam. The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police has arrested 13 people so far, including some candidates, in the NEET paper leak case. The investigation has identified Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu, a junior engineer in Danapur Municipal Council, as the mastermind behind the leak. During interrogation, the seven arrested candidates explained how Sikandar hacked the NEET paper to carry out the scam.
The Bihar Police investigation revealed that NEET question papers were collected from printing firms at NTA nodal locations in various states and sent to local banks before being distributed to exam centers. During transportation, employees involved in moving the papers leaked them. Accused Amit Anand obtained the NEET paper during transport and, with the help of the main accused Sikandar, orchestrated the scam. Amit Anand, who runs an educational consultancy in Patna, acted as the NEET paper solver and taught the answers to candidates a day before the exam. I am giving my statement of defense freely and without any fear or pressure to the inspector at Shastri Nagar police station. I have family ties with Sikandar P. Yadavendu, who informed me that the NEET exam would be held on 05.05.24. I was staying in Patna Buddha Colony to prepare. On 04.05.24, my uncle asked me to come in the evening. When I arrived, he took me to Amit Anand and Nitish, where I was given the NEET exam question paper and answers to study and memorize. On exam day, I went to my center at Patliputra Colony International School and took the exam according to my shift. Afterward, the police arrived and arrested me with the question paper and answer material. I admitted my crime.
I was preparing for NEET while staying in Ranchi. My father, a friend of Sikandar P. Yadavendu, informed me that the NEET exam was scheduled for 05.05.24. We went to Patna on 03.05.24 and met Sikandar. On the night of 04.05.24, Sikandar introduced me to Amit Anand and Nitish Kumar and told me to go with them. They taught me the NEET exam question paper and answers. On 05.05.24, I took the exam at K.D. Convent School Bairia, where all the questions and answers I had learned were correct. After the exam, the police arrived and arrested me.
I am friends with Sikandar P. Yadavendu, a Junior Engineer in Nagar Parishad Danapur, whom I met in Ranchi during my contracting work. I also took small jobs from him. My son, Abhishek Kumar, was preparing for the NEET exam. When I asked Sikandar about the latest news regarding my son, he informed me that the NEET exam date was set and my son would take it. On 03.05.24, I brought Abhishek from Ranchi to Patna and met Sikandar on 04.05.24. Sikandar then took my son to Amit Anand and Nitish Kumar, where he was given the NEET question paper and answer sheet to memorize. In return, I had given Sikandar two blank cheques from my SBI Bank Main Branch Ranchi account (number 32259670701) a year ago, as part of a deal for Rs 40 lakh to ensure my son would pass the NEET exam. After the exam, the police arrested both my son and me.
I was already friends with Sikandar P. Yadavendu. When I visited him at Nagar Parishad Danapur, he asked where I had been. I told him I had gone to Kota to visit my son, who is preparing for NEET there. Sikandar then told me that everything was arranged and my son could pass the exam for 40 lakh rupees. Tempted, I accepted the offer and gave Sikandar all my son’s documents. On the night of 04.05.24, Sikandar called my son and gave him the question paper with answers to memorize. He told me that I should pay him if my son Ayush Raj passed the exam.
I was preparing for the NEET exam at Allen Coaching Center in Kota. My uncle, Sikandar P. Yadavendu, a Junior Engineer at Nagar Parishad Danapur, told me that the NEET exam was on 05.05.24 and asked me to come back from Kota as the exam had been arranged. I returned, and on the night of 04.05.24, my uncle took me to Amit Anand and Nitish Kumar. They gave me the NEET question paper and answers to study and memorize overnight. My exam center was D.Y. Patil School, and during the exam, I found the same questions I had memorized. After the exam, the police suddenly arrived and arrested me.
I am friends with Sikandar P. Yadavendu. I met him at the Nagar Parishad Danapur office with Amit Anand while I was there for personal work. During our conversation, he mentioned that he leaks question papers for competitive exams to help students pass. Sikandar said he had 4-5 boys preparing for NEET and needed help to ensure they passed. Amit Anand and I agreed to help for 30-32 lakh rupees, and Sikandar agreed. He said he would provide four boys. For the NEET exam, Sikandar asked when to call the boys. Amit instructed him to bring them on the night of 04.05.24, where we leaked the NEET exam paper and made the boys memorize the questions and answers. When the police caught Sikandar, they also arrested us based on his information. The police confiscated the burnt remains of the question and answer materials. I was previously jailed in 2024 by the Economic Offences Unit, Bihar, Patna, for leaking the BPSC exam paper and malpractice.

For the NEET exam, I told Sikandar to bring the boys on the night of 04.05.24. We leaked the NEET exam paper and had the boys memorize the questions and answers. When the police caught Sikandar, they also arrested us based on his information. The police seized admit cards from various exams and the burnt remains of the NEET questions and answers from our rented flat, no. 202, at Kuldeep Bima Aditya Apartment. I confessed to my crime and admitted to doing this before.
The statements from those arrested in the NEET paper leak case clearly reveal that JE Sikandar was the mastermind behind the conspiracy. He jeopardized the future of countless NEET aspirants in exchange for payments of Rs 30-32 lakh from some and Rs 40 lakh from others.
