On Friday, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) announced the new date for NEET-PG 2024. The exam is scheduled to take place on August 11 in two shifts.
‘The eligibility cut-off date for NEET-PG 2024 remains set for August 15, 2024,’ it added.
The board also mentioned that students can find more details about the two-shift examination schedule on the NBEMS website in the coming days.

Following the cancellation of the exam last month as a precautionary step amidst controversies over competitive test irregularities.
High-Level Committee Formed by Education Ministry For NEET Exam
NEET-PG was cancelled due to concerns over alleged irregularities in competitive testing procedures. The Ministry of Health decided to postpone the exam to conduct a thorough assessment of the examination’s processes and ensure their robustness. This decision was made as a preemptive measure to address ongoing controversies and maintain the integrity of the NEET-PG Entrance Examination. The cancellation aimed to uphold fairness and transparency in medical student evaluations, reflecting the government’s commitment to conducting examinations under credible and reliable conditions.
The Ministry of Education has established a high-level committee of experts to recommend reforms in the examination process, enhance data security protocols, and improve the functioning of the NTA. The 7-member committee, chaired by former ISRO chairman Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, will submit its report within the next two months.
Multiple discrepancies were observed during examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), including the NEET-UG exams. The department is under scrutiny for alleged irregularities, sparking nationwide protests and calls from protestors and political parties to disband the NTA.
