Udaipur: Nearly 100 individuals fell ill on Sunday due to a food poisoning incident in Udaipur, Rajasthan, according to officials. Block Chief Medical Officer Dr. Saket Jain stated, following an initial examination of the patients, that the incident appeared to be a case of food poisoning.
According to reports, numerous individuals developed symptoms of food poisoning after eating at a community event. They were subsequently admitted to a nearby hospital and are currently receiving treatment.

Officials reported that a special ‘Sama’ event was organized on Sunday for those observing the Ekadashi fast, with around 1,500 people in attendance.

Officials reported that Khichdi was prepared as an offering at the community event. However, attendees experienced symptoms such as vomiting and nausea after consuming the dish.
Family members of those who fell ill rushed them to the hospital. The district medical department became alert as the influx of patients increased rapidly by evening.
Officials added that the cause of the food poisoning has yet to be determined, and an investigation is currently underway.
