The nomination was submitted in four sets, each set having signatures of 20 proposers and 20 seconders. Apart from PM Modi, Union ministers, senior MPs and prominent leaders of the alliance were also present on these documents.
The nomination comes just days after Prime Minister Modi praised Radhakrishnan on social media for his commitment to public service. On X, the PM described him as a leader full of dedication, humility and wisdom who is constantly working for the empowerment of underprivileged communities.
Unanimous Consent Of NDA
The decision to make Radhakrishnan the candidate was taken unanimously at an important strategic meeting held at the residence of Union Minister Prahlad Joshi. Senior leader Jitan Ram Manjhi confirmed the consensus, saying the alliance is united on the issue.
CP Radhakrishnan, who is currently the governor of Meghalaya, is a veteran BJP leader with decades of experience in the legislative and administrative fields. Radhakrishnan, a former MP from Tamil Nadu, is known for his strong grassroots hold and focus on social development.
Vice-president Election To Be Held Next Month
The vice-president election is scheduled to be held next month, and Radhakrishnan is considered the strongest candidate due to the NDA’s majority in Parliament. If elected, he will take over one of the highest constitutional posts in the country and replace the current vice-president.
