Bandu Gaikwad, a relative of the NCP leader and son of the Deputy Mayor of Pune, drove his SUV at top speed and collided with a tempo truck; two persons were left injured in this mishap. Reports say Bandu Gaikwad’s son Saurabh was driving under the influence of alcohol when the incident happened. The video of this incident is going viral on social media. The incident took place at 5:00 am early in the morning on Tuesday.
The video shows a tempo truck carrying chickens on an empty road. An SUV, which is coming from the opposite direction, collides with the tempo truck. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage in the accident. Following the collision, the chickens also fall off the roadside. In the mishap, both the occupants of the SUV, including Saurabh Gaikwad, and those in the tempo-truck are injured. The police have filed a case against Saurabh Gaikwad.

All three were immediately taken to a hospital where they are still undergoing treatment. Sources said that NCP leader’s son Saurabh was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, though it is not confirmed yet.

Fatal Drunk Driving Incidents
Earlier this week, a Porsche car rammed into a motorcycle in Pune. The car was being driven by a 17-year-old youth who was allegedly drunk. Two months after this accident, on July 7th in Pune, Mihir Shah, son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah, hit a scooter with his BMW car in Worli. In that incident, a 45-year-old woman died. Information suggests that Mihir Shah had consumed twice the permissible limit of alcohol before he got into the accident. After the mishap, Mihir Shah had fled, but last week, the police arrested him.
