National Panchayati Raj Day: Today is National Panchayati Raj Day. On this day the Panchayati Raj Act got constitutional status. On this occasion, we talk about Sanjay Kumar, who along with taking back the Panchayats in their old form, is also running a campaign to save the youth from drugs.
Sanjay Kumar points out that the glare of capitalism has made people isolated. No matter how many disputes are there between people, if they sit together and eat food, then speaking starts again. Therefore, in order to connect people and increase brotherhood, their team also conducts social banquets and singing programs from time to time.
Drugs were an important issue in Punjab in the last assembly elections in Punjab. The issue of drugs was raised very strongly. To deal with this, Sanjay Kumar will visit the rural areas of Punjab and inspire people to stay away from it. For this, he will run a de-addiction campaign in the entire Punjab. He says that drug addiction is serious and fatal for society. The new generation can be saved by erasing it.
In order to eradicate this evil from Jammu and Kashmir, he made Jammu a place of action and for this made a strategy to work in the whole of Kashmir. To stop drug addiction, he is running several public awareness campaigns under the banner of Youth for Transformation. This campaign of drug eradication was started by Sanjay Kumar from the Panchayats of Jammu and is now planned to be spread all over North India.
It may be noted that initially school children, cadet corps members, sportspersons, etc. were participating in such awareness programmes, but now NSS volunteers from colleges in Jammu, NCC cadets, NSS staff and officers, elders and women are participating in such awareness programmes are involved.
Sanjay Kumar’s awareness campaign regarding panchayats in Jammu has been in discussion. He has been running it for many years. He came into the limelight for the first time when he launched a special campaign to make the people of the area participate in the elections during the boycott of Panchayat elections.
Several parties had boycotted the last Panchayat elections in Jammu. At that time, Sanjay started a public awareness campaign in the panchayats and appealed to join to form the lower-level government. Motivated people to contest elections by visiting many villages of Jammu. The effect of this campaign was that 1011 Sarpanchs were elected.
